Lots of handy things coming from 254’s 2023 tech binder thread
They used grippy tape for their cube intake. Called Cattounge tape. 254 claims it’s similar to floated neoprene rollers in terms of grip. Probably worth getting some to try it out.
Also it looks like 254 used Rev magnetic limit switches aka hall effect sensors for their elevator. I like the packaging of these, and think we should look at using them for 2024.
Robot Tune up
Today we also had our tune up day for the final competition for 2023 Robot Misha and Zoey this coming weekend.
During inspection we found a bolt that had sheared from the elbow “sprocket sandwich”.
Seems like these high load sprockets have been breaking bolts a lot. If we were to do another year of something similar with similar loads, I think we would want to use larger bolts.
We also once again talked about round spacers instead of hex to make alignment a lot easier.
