By default, the Smart Dimension tool is used after a sketch entity is placed in order to dimension it. Enabling this setting lets you dimension sketch entities while you’re placing them.
Go to: [Settings → System Options → Sketch] and enable “Enable on screen numeric input…” and “Create dimension only when value is entered”.
