Set Up Wiki Collaboration

1. Download & Install Obsidian
2. Log into GitHub, if you don’t have an account create one.
3. Send Brennan your GitHub account username, he will have to send a request to join the repository.
4. Download & install GitHub Desktop
5. Clone the repository for the repository you were invited to
6. If asked “how are you planning to use this fork?” select For my own purposes
7. Open Obsidian and select “Open folder as vault” and select the waffleswiki folder, then content folder.
8. Press Open
9. Make changes as needed!
10. Use GitHub to pull changes to get the most up to date version

Pushing an Update

1. Make changes in obsidian

2. Open up GitHub Desktop

3. Write a brief summary of what you added, make sure you are on the v4 branch. If you aren’t, click the branch and select v4. When ready press commit to v4

4. Push to origin to update the site.

   

5. The website will automatically refresh after a few minutes with your changes!

Obsidian Configuration

Daily Notes

1. Click Settings

   

2. Click Daily Notes in the core plugins

   

3. Update day format to YYYY/MM-MMMM/Do MMMM y (dddd), and New File Location to Blog

   

4. Add Blog Template as a template for the daily notes.

   

Build Blog Contribution

1. Get access to 2024 Build Blog Repo (message Brennan about this)
2. Edit daily note settings to this
3. Clone the build blog repo to quartz/content/blog/2024
4. Edit build blog files only in the newly created 2024Buildblog folder. The blog will be public after the season.
